Young's Shellfish began like most small businesses located in Maine, with hard work and lots of determination. Our founder and President Robert Young started as a fisherman in 1973 fishing the waters of Penobscot Bay. He later opened a processing facility to distribute his product to wholesale customers. As demand grew he began buying from other fisherman and he soon found that he could better serve his customers in the shop rather than on the water. Years have passed and Young's Shellfish Co. has progressed into the largest Maine-based seafood distributor. We have a fleet of seven trucks delivering six days a week from Madawaska, Maine to Laconia, New Hampshire.
